About
The KDI School–World Bank Conference on Fiscal Policy is the flagship event of the knowledge partnership between the KDI School of Public Policy and Management and the World Bank. Held annually since 2023, it brings together government officials, academics, and World Bank specialists to share the outcomes of the partnership, compare country experiences, and discuss current fiscal policy issues.
Day 1 examines how intergovernmental transfers can correct fiscal imbalances and help subnational governments deliver comparable public services while preserving incentives for local revenue mobilization, prudent borrowing, and productive investment.
Day 2 turns to digital assets, a market now worth more than US$3 trillion. Sessions cover the basics of digital assets, the use of blockchain to improve expenditure tracking and accountability, and how governments can tax digital assets as regulation catches up with innovation.
Day 3 is a Knowledge and Training Fair, where World Bank and KDI School experts present recent fiscal research and lead hands-on training for fiscal officials from developing countries on assessing potential efficiency gains in public procurement.
